I'm the opposite, I need silence to write - ambient noise is okay, like the trains rumbling below my house - but music draws me in too much and then I lose my thread. Kudos to you for finding inspiration and motivation through music!
Thanks Kathleen! I think maybe when I have music on, I don't listen to it very carefully - it just kind of flows around me. I realized that when we were digging into the Taylor songs and I found I didn't know the storylines of songs that I had heard a hundred times.
Oh Holly. I love your writing, but I found this line so intriguingly hard to believe, "I often forget about music." (Ya know considering we met through a music/writing workshop of the times.) Ha.
Go Canada! It's true - I forget to listen to music for days at a time, and then when I turn it on, I'm so excited and happy! Too much go-go-go in my life without paying attention to what I really need.
